Eid Mubarak is an Arabic term, here “Eid” means ‘Celebration’ and “Mubarak” means ‘Blessed’. So in Arabic it means “Blessed Festival” and after Ramadan people usually celebrate it with the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr.
Eid al-Fitr was originated by the “Islamic prophet Muhammad”, there are many views related to where it is initiated /started by moreover final conclusion is that it was coming from “Madina” when Muhammad migrated from Mecca. The first Eid al-Fitr was celebrated in 624 CE by the Prophet Mohammed and his companions after the victory of the battle of Jang-e-Badar.
After time pass away when the prophet arrived in Madina, he observed people celebrating two specific days in which they entertained each-other with recreation and merriment. Then the Prophet remarked that Almighty has fixed two days of festivity instead of these for you which are better than these: Eid al-Fitr & Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Fitr begins at sunset on the night of the first sighting of the crescent moon.
In the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Eid prayer is performed in congregation in open areas like fields, community centers, or mosques (Starting by raising of the hands to the ears while saying Allahu Akbar, which means ‘God is greatest’). The main obligatory act of charity, helping to poor financially as well as to needy before performing the ‘Eid prayer’. This is the most significant task which really makes this festival remarkable.
Although on the occasion of this festival, everyone wears new clothes (or the best possible available) and sharing wishes to everyone with the pronunciation “EID-MUBARAK“
